Paula Keaveney is the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate in Garston and Halewood. She has contested the Liverpool Garston seat twice in the past (in 2001 and 2005).
Paula is 50 and lives in Garston (Under the Bridge). She is a University Lecturer working at Edge Hill University. Paula has worked as an on air journalist for the BBC and for a range of national charities including Save the Children and Action for Children (formerly NCH).
Paula is a Councillor on Liverpool City Council where she represents Cressington ward.
Paula is a keen quizzer and recently reached the semi finals of BBC's Mastermind programme (answering questions on TV comedy show Seinfeld and Liberal Prime Minister H H Asquith).
She loves reading and until recently did book reviews on BBC Radio Merseyside.
Paula's political interestes include civil rights, the environment, overseas development and poverty. She chooses not to own a car and makes most journeys by public transport or bicycle) Her most recent action on the City Council has been to set up a commission to look at issues of poverty in Liverpool.
Paula is single but shares her home with two cats.
She likes experimenting with recipes and growing vegetables and herbs in the back yard.
