Cressington Councillor and Liberal Democrat Leader Paula Keaveney has called for the City Council to do more to deal with litter linked to takeaways, betting shops and ATMs.
She made the call at a Full Council meeting this month (January 18th).
The government has given Liverpool City Council the power to do more to make takeaways and other shops take responsibility for litter linked to their sales.
But the Council has simply refused to use the powers. And that means residental areas and shopping parades are often awash with litter.
Sadly the Labour run Council refused Paula's call for action.
