Liberal Democrats in South Liverpool have launched a petition for better bus services on the 80 and 80a route.
The buses run between Speke (either the airport or the district centre/Morrisons) and the City Centre going along roads such as Banks Road, Long Lane and Brodie Avenue.
During the day on weekdays the service is good. But residents complain that during the evenings and on Sundays the half hourly service is not only not frequent enough but means people can't get to particular locations like the district centre.
Cllr Paula Keaveney has agreed to lobby the bus company and Merseytravel about this. As part of the campaign she has started a petition which is being delivered to homes on part of the bus route and is also available on- line in the petition section of this website.
