Schools across South Liverpool are to benefit this year from money from the Pupil Premium, an investment designed to give extra cash to schools with children from deprived areas or children of service families.
Figures for this year's Pupil Premium were published today. They are higher than predicted as the Co alition Government has managed to invest more in the scheme.
The Pupil Premium was a major part of the Liberal Democrat manifesto at the General Election and was written into the Co alition agreement.
The extra money for schools in South Liverpool includes:
More than £15,000 for Gilmour junior school
More than £40,000 for Hunts Cross primary school
Nearly £200,000 for Enterprise South Liverpool Academy
More than £120,000 for Gateacre Community Comprehensive
More than £85,000 for Parklands
The money depends on the number of pupils who are from deprived backgrounds or who are from service families or looked after children.
