Cllr Dave Smithson is delighted with the funds for Halewood Park
Halewood Lib Dems have won their battle for more to be done to improve Halewood Park.
The Lib Dems have been campaigning for additional money to be made available to upgrade the Halewood Park.
The extra money to improve the park was agreed at the Council's budget meeting and will mean that Halewood Park can be brought up to Green Flag status, hopefully within the next year.
The Council will work closely with local residents and the Friends of Halewood Park to ensure that the improvements have their full support.
Cllr Dave Smithson said: "Naturally we are delighted that we have been able to secure the money in this year's budget for this work to take place.
"We know many local residents love Halewood Park and want to see these improvements made and for the park to be brought back up to Green Flag status soon."
