Leader of the Lib Dems in Liverpool, Councillor Warren Bradley, recently met with residents, police and council officers at the shops on Southbrook Way.
Following a walkabout in the area, residents had raised serious concerns with Warren about youths gathering and about potentially anti social behaviour.
The police and Council Officers agreed to step up patrols in the area in an attempt to ease the problems
According to one local resident the area has, as a result become quieter. "Warren Bradley is the first person who has tackled this head on. We had another issue recently and we contacted Warren who again took action on our behalf"
The Lib Dem team is now requesting that one of the vacant shops is demolished and the area is landscaped. This is to help remove a situation that causes problems for residents and police alike.
