Residents in Netherley and Belle Vale will know that the Belle Vale junior league agreed to work with Cllr Warren Bradley, Leader of the Lib Dems, to find a new home for their games. This followed the decision to use the Reggie Smith playing fields for the site of the new secondary school for the area.
Cllr Bradley worked personally with the league committee to ensure that the new location would be as good, if not better, than the previous site. If this was not possible, he pledged that the league could stay where it was.
John Coggins, Ian Thompson and Jim Wilson worked with Warren and officers from the Council's sports team and the Liverpool County FA. The former pitches on Caldway Drive in Netherley were identified.
The new facility is now ready.
Local resident and school governor, Veronica Manifold said: " Warren Bradley and the Lib Dems have kept their promise. They don't claim credit for other people's hard work. They can be trusted to work with the community to make sure we get what we want. I really believe the Lib Dems have our area at heart"
