Councillors Flo Clucas, Vera Best and John Clucas have been putting money into fighting crime - with some significant success.
'We have held a number of days locally, at Asda and Sainsbury's where the police have been paid extra from the councillors ward funding to adapt cars to prevent their number plates being stolen.' said Vera Best.
'To date, some 2000 cars have been adapted at no cost to the owners.
"We have also paid for Smartwater kits to go into residents' homes. There have been fantastic results from the first that were put in, with indications of a 73per cent reduction in return burglaries in the Kingsthorne Park area. Buying police overtime to do this work means we can ensure that residents have confidence in what is being done.'
"Burglary awareness days have also been paid for, with local police officer Colin Clark helping local people to stay safe.
'We work very closely with Constable Clark' Vera said "and we have been very pleased that we could fund overtime for him and a colleague to do much of the work we have been sponsoring.'
