HMS Whimbrel call by Allerton Councillor

Allerton and Hunts Cross Liberal Democrat,Cllr Flo Clucas, is supporting the campaign to bring HMS Whimbrel back to Liverpool.
Cllr Clucas wrote a motion for the City Council Executive Board. The motion was considered and agreed last week (Friday 13th March). The text is below:
"That this Council mindful of the sacrifice of many Liverpool, Merseyside sailors, both Merchant and Royal Navy, together with many from oversees who fought and died in the Battle of the Atlantic.
Mindful also that this year 2009, marks the 70th anniversary of the start of the Second World War;
While understanding that it is not being asked for financial support, nevertheless, wishes to place on record its support for the return of HMS Whimbrel to Liverpool."
