South Liverpool Youngsters join Tall Ships.

Young people from South Liverpool are to compete in the 2008 Tall Ships Race.

Earlier this year Liverpool City Council launched a competition for youngsters to apply for free berths on one of the ships.

The South Liverpool winners are among 40 16 to 24 year olds who will be taking part in the four day Liverpool festival as well as sailing on the first leg to Norway.

Among the youngsters are:

From Speke - Liam Ross, Daniel Bird, Bethany Higgins, Lee Wilson and Lucy Ann Chadwick.

From Garston - Max Starck-Stevens, Joshua Lyon, and Mark Young

From Allerton - Claire and Kate Guest.

From Aigburth - Nicholas Gribit and Philip Spyropolous

From Childwall - Clare Murphy, and Aimee van der Westhuizen

From Mossley Hill - Zachary Stavrou-Dowd
