People travelling by bus to hospital are being ripped off if they have to cross a borough border.
That's according to Belle Vale Lib Dem Tom Marshall.
People in South Liverpool, including in Netherley, Belle Vale, Speke and Garston, often go to Whiston Hosptal rather than to the Royal in the City Centre.
But that means anyone travelling there by bus ends up paying more.
Because Arriva Bus' fare structure means prices are affected by boundaries, it is more expensive to travel from Belle Vale to Whiston Hospital by bus than it is to travel to the Royal.
And that, says Tom is discrimination.,
"The problem here is that the Government continues to support a de regulated bys service with everything in private hands. That means companies don't have to justify charging more for journeys out to Whiston. Proper regulation would mean these anomalies could be dealt with. Meanwhile Labour politicians stay silent. Clearly they are happy for this boundary discrimination to continue"
