Here are some more examples of recent work carried out by the Lib Dem Team in Cressington ward:
Residents in many parts of the ward report problems with speeding traffic. Following a survey at the junction with Greenhill Road and Booker Avenue, a further speeding survey is to take place on Mather Avenue. The Avenue is one of the roads in the City identified for a change in speed limit, from 40mph to 30mph.
Lib Dem Councillors have secured extra funds to pay for some more detatched youth work on Garston Park. The idea is to find ways of engaging the young people in activities. Meanwhile the team has also secured £10,000 to resurface the potholed footpaths at Garston bowling green. The bowling club has also been successful in getting council funding for a new shelter and to pay for some work to the toilet block.
The Lib Dem team recently ensured an extra £10,000 for the area to pay for tree planting. Most of the trees, for roads including Mather Avenue and Brocklebank Lane, have already been planted. Councillors are keen, however, to hear of residents' ideas for other locations that could do with some new trees.
