Plans for a new "Sports City" in South Liverpool take another step forward next week (February 26th) when they are debated at the City Council's planning committee.
The scheme is for sports and leisure facilities on the site of the former Lee Manor school on Childwall Valley Road.
The project, which is costing more than 10 million pounds, involves both outdoor and indoor sports facilities. It will be built near the Valley Community Theatre, currently the only organisation occupying the site.
The plans are to be voted on by planning councillors on Tuesday 26th February.
Says Lib Dem Councillor Tom Marshall:
" I have been working with the developers for some time now to push for sports facilities here. They will be a huge bonus for local people. The scheme includes facilities that have never been available in Belle Vale and Netherley before - so it will be a huge gain for our area"
