Hunts Cross station is still giving cause for concern as some drivers continue to park inconsiderately. Now local councillors Flo Clucas, Vera Best and John Clucas have come forward with a plan to ease matters for local residents. 'We are offering residents who live on the worst affected roads - Waylands Drive, Ashton Drive, Kingsmead and Stuart Ave - 'H' markings at no cost to try to ensure that their driveways are kept clear of parked cars. We are also going to see an extension of the work done by the police and parking officers, which saw more than 200 drivers spoken to about their parking and 67 tickets being issued. We have also asked Merseytravel to increase parking at South Liverpool Parkway.'
Laxton Road will shortly have a new lighting column and A frame to stop youths riding motorcycles and quad bikes on the pavement.
Tudor Road alleygates are now in place! It has been a long struggle, but the work has paid off. 'WE were caught when the Audit Commission insisted that new rules had to br brought in. Everyone knew that alleygates were what was needed - councillors, residents and the police - but the rules made life very hard. We have had to evidence every complaint, every request for gates and every other method that has been tried!' said Flo Clucas 'It has been a nightmare.' Now all other applications across the city will use the system developed for Tudor Road.
