Residents in Allerton will be pleased to know that local Liberal democrat Councillors Flo Clucas, Vera Best and John Clucas have supported a Section 30 Order application by the police. If granted, this will enable the police to take action against gangs gathering in the Springwood Ave/Heath Road/Mather Avenue area. 'We are really pleased that this has come forward' said Flo Clucas 'There are too many youths gathering, causing annoyance, stealing from local shops and intimidating local residents.' The order will last from March to August 31st.
Works on Woolton Road to enhance the central reservation and make it safer are progressing well. 'We worked with residents and officers to develop the scheme and we hope that local schoolchildren from Springwood Heath school will be involved in planting the young trees.' Said Flo
More litter bins have been ordered for the area and dog fouling bins also. They will be placed on Woolton Road and in Clarke's Gardens.
'We have not been happy at the state that Booker Avenue has been left in near the new development.' Said Flo 'The grass verges should be put back into a proper state and the pavement and paths should be reinstated properly by the utlility companies.' We have asked officers to investigate what has happened here and ensure that matters are put right."
