Funding opportunities for local groups

January 17, 2008 12:00 AM

Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services ( an umbrella group for the voluntary sector) is promoting a small grant scheme for organisations in areas covered by a source of EU funding. Here are the details:

SMALL GRANTS AVAILABLE TO COMMUNITY GROUPS IN P4 AREAS

for

projects that help break down barriers to community involvement,

informal/formal training or employment. Grants will be around £2,000

maximum, although for exceptional projects or small consortium bids more

may be available.

This can include (for example):

  • Formal or informal education/training for unemployed
  • Staff/volunteer training for community groups
  • Childcare or support that enables access to

training/employment/volunteering opportunities

  • Outreach for recruitment of volunteers
  • Intergenerational projects

Projects should aim to:

  • Increase the numbers of people in an area who feel that they can

influence decisions affecting their area and /or

  • Increase the numbers of people who feel that their area is a

place where people from different backgrounds get on well together

If you have an idea for a project please contact The Grants Team at

Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services on 0151 236 7728 for more

information
