Bus shelter - should it stay or should it go?

January 13, 2008 12:00 AM

Pensioner at bus stop in LeicesterBus users and local residents in Garston are being asked if a bus shelter, which has been a focus for anti social behaviour, should be removed.

The shelter, on Banks Road in Garston, is used by people travelling on the 80, 80a and 201 buses towards Speke and Liverpool airport. The shelter is close to the backs of houses on the Logfield Drive estate, and residents report repeated nuisance from anti social behaviour by youths using the shelter as a base.

Now Merseytravel is consulting on whether or not to remove the shelter.

Residents or transport users with views are being asked to write to Merseytravel at its Liverpool City Centre headquarters to give their opinions. Anyone taking part in the consultation should quote the reference number for the stop and shelter - which is 43015C. The consultation ends on 4th February 2008.
