Work is underway in Allerton and Hunts Cross to improve the environment for local residents.
People will already have noticed work being done on the central reservation on Woolton Road.
'We wanted to improve the look of the area' said Cllr Flo Clucas ' and have begun a significant programme.
'The old tree trunks have been removed and existing bushes and trees are being trimmed and pruned where required. The next stage is to plant young trees in the central reservation that will be weeded and thinned over the next few years, to give clusters of trees across the grassed area.
'It will be rather like the central reservation near Calderstones park'
It will take some time for the work to be completed, but we are sure it will enhance the whole of the neighbourhood.'
Litter and Dog Mess Bins have been reequested for Woolton Road and for the approach to Clarke's Gardens. 'We have also applied for new bins on Kings Drive and Out Lane as well as Hunts Cross Ave and Speke Road near the post office' said Cllr Clucas.
