X-Factor stars Eton Road and former Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton will both perform at this year's event, alongside up-and-coming singer 12-year-old Shaun Walsh and Notre Dame School Choir. There will also be a guest appearance from Father Christmas.
Thousands of spectators are expected to turn out for the annual switch-on, which takes place on St George's Plateau on Sunday, November 18. The show starts at 5pm.
Councillor Warren Bradley, leader of Liverpool city council and deputy chair of the Liverpool Culture Company, said: "The Christmas lights switch-on is a much-loved event on the city's calendar, and one of the sure signs that the festive season is nearly upon us.
"It's set to be a really great evening and I'm especially pleased that we are able to showcase such a great selection of local stars at the switch-on this year."
Eton Road will be performing two tracks, including 'Wishing'. Band member Danny Morris said: "Over the last few months we have been in the studio recording original tracks which we have written ourselves.
"'Wishing' was the first track to be recorded and it has received a fantastic response when we've performed it. Being able to perform our own tracks is a fantastic experience and hopefully everyone at the Christmas Lights switch-on will enjoy it."
