South Liverpool Post Offices face the axe

Post offices in South Liverpool are among those on a list of closures announced this week (6 November)
Thurne Way (Gateacre) and Aigburth Road are on the list which includes seven other branches in Liverpool.
The announcement is the latest in a series of closure schemes hitting Liverpool residents.
Says Paula Keaveney, spokesperson for Garston and Halewood Lib Dems:
"The government has gradually removed functions from Post Offices. This is then used as an excuse for them to be targeted for closure. Yet local Post Offices perform an important social function. I wonder if Liverpool's Labour MPs will make their voices heard on this"
