A South Liverpool Lib Dem has slammed arrangements for providing dental care.
Belle Vale representative Tom Marshall says that patients in his area have received letters effectively removing them from a dental practice unless they choose to go private.
Under the Government's arrangements for dental care, dentists are quite entitled to do this. But it leaves people, particularly those on low incomes, with poor or no access to the care they need.
Says Tom: "The way dental services are organised are a disgrace. More and more people are being forced to pay for private care. Finding an NHS dentist is getting close to impossible. Whatever happened to free at the point of use?"
Lib Dems are calling for a review of arrangements for dental care in England.
