South Liverpool will have fewer police officers over the next four months.
Officers are being moved into the Croxteth area to provide more policing in the wake of the tragic shooting earlier this year.
But there appear to be no realistic plans to replace the lost South Liverpool officers while they help out elsewhere in Liverpool.
Says Belle Vale Lib Dem Councillor Tom Marshall:
" We know that extra police are needed in Croxteth and Norris Green, but this should not be at the expense of people in South Liverpool where there is already a shortage of bobbies on the beat. The government should give Merseyside police the extra resources so that police numbers can be increased across the City, rather than leaving them having to rob Peter to pay Paul".
