Liverpool city council is giving away 20 tonnes of compost over the weekend 15th-16th September 2007. This giveaway is a 'Thank you' to residents for recycling over 10,000 tonnes of green waste so far this year and to promote the use of home composting bins.
Other events will be taking place over the next few months at various locations. But these are the first two.
Saturday 15th September - Croxteth Country Park L12 between 10am-2pm. Car park area, main entrance from Muirhead Ave/Oak Lane
Sunday 16th September- Clarke Gardens, Springwood Avenue, L25 between 10am-2pm. Car park area of main drive.
Residents are asked to bring along your own shovels and bags to collect their free compost.
