The Liberal Democrat national conference is to take place in Liverpool next year.
The event (the Spring Conference) will see delegates from all over the country coming to the City for debates at the new Arena and Conference Centre.
There are more than 1,500 delegates plus large numbers of journalists and guests taking part in the conference, which is from 7 to 9 March.
Liverpool Lib Dems believe this will be an excellent way to showcase the arena building to decision makers from all over Britain.
Says Garston spokesperson Paula Keaveney:
"When the Arena and Conference Centre was first planned we put in a request for a Lib Dem conference to book in. It's brilliant that our party will be one of the first organisations to use the new facility. I am sure, once delegates and organisers have seen what's on offer, that there will be repeat bookings in future years".
