People travelling on the "circular" bus route from the Belle Vale area through Garston will no longer have to pay twice for the privilege.
The "circular" routes run through Liverpool South Parkway station.
People have to get off and, if they are continuing on the journey, get back on again at another stand.
But up to now this has meant paying two fares.
Now Lib Dem Councillor Tom Marshall has won a guarantee from Merseytravel that the Belle Vale travellers will be able to go through the bus station without paying twice.
Says Tom, who represents Belle Vale: "This problem had already been raised when it affected people living in Garston, but it soon became clear it was causing problems for a lot of people in Belle Vale too. I raised this with bosses at Merseytravel so was delighted to get an assurance that this double charging will stop".
Tom can be contacted at thomas.marshall@liverpool.gov.uk on this or on any other Netherley and Belle Vale issue.
