It was fifty years ago this year that John Lennon and Paul McCartney
first appeared together on stage.
Their appearance was in St Peter's Church Hall in Woolton Village.
And to celebrate the fifty years, the Chuch is organising a Beatles Flower Festival to take place later this month (June 15 to 17).
The festival, which includes music, memorabilia and floral displays to illustrate Beatles songs, is part of this year's Woolton in Bloom.
Woolton in Bloom, during which volunteers make a special effort in and around Woolton Village, happens every year now. So far have the organisers come, that the village has won awards at both regional and national level.
Information about the Beatles Flower Festival is available from 0151 421 0831.
Information about Woolton in Bloom, and how to get more involved, is available from Lib Dem Councillor Barbara Mace at barbara.mace@liverpool.gov.uk
