Four out of Ten for government, say Lib Dems

The Liberal Democrats have today (Monday 30th April) released a dossier about the achievements, or lack of them, of the Blair Brown government since 1997.
Called "The State They've Put Us In" the dossier reports that in many areas, things have actually gone backwards.
The points include:
- the income gap between rich and poor is now greater than it was at any time under Margaret Thatcher
- carbon emissions have actually risen by 2 per cent since 1997. The government has no chance of meeting its reduction targets.
- violent crime has doubled since 1998
The Labour Government has wasted its opportunity to build a fairer society.
