More alleygates - this time in Woolton and Hunts Cross

March 18, 2007 11:16 AM

Plans for alleygating in the Woolton and Hunts Cross areas are well advanced, says Lib Dem Councillor John Clucas who represents the Allerton and Hunts Cross ward.

'Residents had been having trouble with anti-social behaviour for some while and having built up the evidence, we were able to start the alleygating process. Now, gates are being fitted to a number of alleys, with more to come in the next few months."

Alleyways included in this scheme are:

Tudor Rd

Mackets Close

Linkside Rd

Woodvale/Hunts Cross Ave

Garway

Hillfoot Rd

School Lane

The alleygates are part of a programme started by the Lib Dem City Council. In each area or neighbourhood with gates there has been a proved decrease in crime. Gates also help prevent alleys being used for dumping by passers by.

The alleygates programme in this area is only one of several being rolled out currently. Gating orders have also been produced for a number of alleyways and entries in Speke.
