More than 900 million pounds may be taken from the National Lottery funds that normally go to "good causes" to be spent on the London Olympics instead. That would mean community groups and charities losing more than 300 million pounds from the Big Lottery Fund - a source relied on by many organisations across the country.
The loss would be around £500,000 here in Garston and Halewood.
Liberal Democrats in Parliament are calling on the government to support and protect the voluntary and community sector by safeguarding Lottery money from any further diversion to the London Olympics.
The MPs have organised an Early Day Motion in Parliament, which they are asking MPs from other parties to sign. It is number EDM 695.
