Two organisations in Garston have benefited from the first awards in the City Council empowering neighbourhood schemes.
ARCH (which is based in the under the bridge area of Garston) and Rotters Community Composting, which is based at Dutch Farm, are to get cash for environmental projects.
The Empowering Neighbourhoods Grant scheme was set up to give small grants to organisations across Liverpool. Each ward was allocated a sum of money and organisations were asked to apply.
There is still a small amount of money left for organisations in Speke Garston, and amounts in some of the other South Liverpool wards too. The deadline for the final applications for the money that's left is 12th January. Organisations interested, but who have not received a form, should contact one of their ward Councillors quickly. Details of Lib Dem Councillors are available on the navigation bar of this website, or from 0151 233 3000.
