Silver award for Woolton Village

Woolton Village has won a Silver Gilt award in the national Britain in Bloom competition. The win follows several years of competing in th North West Contest.
Village representatives, including Councillor Barbara Mace, picked up the award at the Britain in Bloom awards ceremony in Perth.
Judges were impressed with the work that had gone on in the village, and said among the things they wanted to particularly mention were
- the involvement of local children, including a local art competition
- the renovation of Quarry Street playground by the Woolton Residents Association
- Woolton in Bloom's sponsorship of a Marie Curie Field of Hope
- Consultation and involvement of local residents
Says Councillor Barbara Mace: "Theh Silver Gilt award is a great reward for all the hard work done by local residents. Now we want to go for Gold".
In the North West in Bloom awards, Woolton Village again won the Best Large Village Title.
