Liverpool John Lennon airport has started its consultation over plans to have more flights and more passengers . Proposals include an extended runway and new road access along with more terminal space and other facilities.
Airport managers say a busier airport will mean more jobs and more people travelling into Liverpool as well as more choice for people from Liverpool wanting to travel abroad.
The proposals will also, they say, have effects on noise and traffic.
People with views on the expansion are being asked to give their views. The airport is organising some consultation meetings and exhibitions, with one of these being at Parklands in Speke .
Liberal Democrat Councillors Paula Keaveney and Danny Hughes are also keen to hear views. The Councillors will take part in the consultation and want to make sure as many local people as possible have the chance to have their say.
Says Paula: "We need to make sure that we get the best deal possible for local people. The airport is on their doorstep and any effects from noise or pollution will be felt by them."
People with views or comments are welcome to send them to the two Lib Dem Councillors. Paula Keaveney can be e mailed at paula@garstonld.org.uk or via the comments section of the navigation bar of this website.
