Liberal Democrat Councillors for Belle Vale ward are calling for urgent actions to sort out problems on Chelwood Avenue.
Councillors Ian Phillips and Tom Marshall have tabled a motion for this months City Council meeting (July 12th).
Some time ago sewers under part of Chelwood Avenue collapsed. This closed off part of the road and made it impossible for some residents to get cars out of their drives.
United Utilities are working on the problem, but the large hole in the road is causing serious disruption. Residents are also having to put up with generator noise all night and, say the Councillors "the intolerance of the contractor to residents needs".
Councillors Phillips and Marshall want United Utilities and representatives from the Council's highways department to turn up to a select committee to explain just what they plan to do to improve the situation.
The two Lib Dems have been keeping in regular tough with United Utilities and others to get updates on the progress of the work. Any residents wanting to contact their representatives can e mail either ian.phillips@liverpool.gov.uk or thomas.marshall@liverpool.gov.uk
