Police fire and ambulance services should be kept local, say Liverpool Liberal Democrats.
Next week's (26 April) City Council meeting will hear that along with the proposals to merge police forces into regional units, there are plans to do the same for the fire service and the ambulance service.
The Liberal Democrats believe that local services are more responsive to local needs and that the regional boundaries being discussed are arbitrary.
The Lib Dems have already been campaigning against police mergers and are calling on the Council to oppose these and to oppose merger madness for fire and ambulance services too.
