Liverpool City Council will tomorrow (25th January) hear that government ministers are still delaying producing the regulations needed by Liverpool and other councils to carry on with their alleygating programmes. And added to that the main source of funding for the gates scheme has been cut by the Labour government.
A motion to the full council meeting written by Councillor Richard Marbrow explains that delays in regulation and cuts in funding are having an effect on people in Speke, Childwall, Garston, Mossley Hill, Cressington and Wavertree.
Lib Dem Councillors will be calling for the Chief Executive of the Council to get in touch with the Home Office about the delays.
