Tesco's plan - residents urged to comment

July 27, 2005 4:18 PM

Lib Dem Councillors for Church Ward, which includes part of Mather Avenue, Liverpool 18, are urging residents with comments about the new plan by Tescos to build on the Mather Avenue playing fields,. to get in contact with council planners.

This is the second planning application from Tescos for use of the field. An earlier application was rejected by the Council, with Tescos taking the whole thing to appeal.

Tescos failed to meet local councillors before submitting the second plans, so Church Ward Councillors Erica Kemp, Richard Kemp and Colin Eldridge are writing to local people urging them to make their views known. People wanting to comment should get in touch with Liverpool City Council's planning department at Millennium House, Victoria Street, Liverpool 1. This department also keeps maps of planning applications, which can be viewed in the building.

At the last debate into plans, Labour Councillor Nick Small supported the scheme. Lib Dem Councillors for Church ward opposed it.
