A public meeting to discuss crime, policing and anti social behaviour in speke is to be organised by the local Liberal Democrats.
The meeting, which will include the local police inspector as well as representatives from the City Council, is being organised at the request of local people who are keen to find ways of getting their voices heard on the issue.
Says Paula Keaveney:
"Last year I chaired a public meeting on policing in Garston which gave people from that area a chance to ask questions, raise issues and make suggestions. I always said we needed to do the same in Speke. I am now putting together a speakers panel and a venue and will be advertising the meeting really soon"
The public meeting will be advertised as widely as possible - but anyone from Speke who wants to make sure they are also on the mailing list for information should e mail local councillor Paula Keaveney at
People are also welcome to contact Paula if they have issues they would like to raise now, or would rather not raise in public.
