Liverpool Garston's Labour MP has come under attack for failing to reply to a request to take action to improve care given to stroke sufferers.
More than 15 months ago, Liverpool City Council discussed the need for better stroke care and agreed to write to the MP, also minister for disabled people, about this.
But a question to the leader of Liverpool City Council revealed that no answer was received.
Says the Lib Dem Garston spokesperson, Paula Keaveney
"this is outrageous. MPs are elected representatives and need to take their responsibilities to their home areas seriously. Ignoring a letter about such a serious issue shows arrogance beyond belief"
Paula Keaveney, also a councillor representing Speke and Garston, has tabled a follow up question to next month's City Council meeting to see if the MP has replied by then.
Says Paula
"I am not optimistic but am stressing this as MPs need to be much more accountable"
