Liverpool's first ever City Fairtrade Day takes place later this month.
BBC newsreader, and patron of the FairTrade Foundation - George Alagiah joins local business leaders in the morning for a business breakfast on the FairTrade theme.
In the afternoon, local school children will be debating FairTrade at the Schools Parliament.
And in the evening a motion to the City's Full Council calls for the FairTrade Initiative to be stepped up.
Says Paula Keaveney, Assistant Executive Member for Green issues and the Councillor leading on FairTrade:
" In Liverpool we have pledged to be the leading FairTrade city in Britain. FairTrade day is part of that iniative".
