After Gardeners question time - Moorcrofts Solicitors present a cheque
People in Gateacre and Woolton villages have been sprucing up their area as part of their entry in the North West in Bloom competition.
Woolton village has entered before. But this is the first time that Gateacre has joined in too.
Preparations for the judging involved clean ups, planting and hanging baskets all round the area.
Now that the judges have visited the two villages, residents are waiting to see if they have won. The results are due at the end of August.
Two local councillors, Barbara Mace and Barbara Collinge, helped co ordinate the efforts with a small group of local residents and committee members. The Lib Dem councillors work is part of their commitment to a cleaner, greener Liverpool.
Woolton village also took part in the BBCs Gardener's Question Time at the Bishops Lodge earlier this summer. Moorcrofts Solicitors kindly sponsored the local Britain in Bloom campaign.
More information about the two entries, and about how other Liverpool communities can get involved in entering the competition, is available from Barbara Mace. She can be contacted via barbara@garstonld.org.uk
