The next stage in the government's attempt to introduce top up fees will be next week (31st March) when MPs will again debate the bill including the fees.
When they last voted, MPs approved the measure but only by a majority of five.
That means if three supporters change their mind and vote against, then the fees plan will be defeated.
Says Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesperson Paula Keaveney:
"Three of Liverpool's MPs voted in favour of fees. So its true to say that Liverpool MPs could make the difference next week. I am calling on the three to honour their manifesto pledges and to support students and families in Liverpool by opposing the fees. If they do not do so they will be letting down people across the City by breaking a clear promise".
